What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWestCork, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWestCork event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Anne Crossey has a Masters in Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin specializing in Psychoanalytic Theory. Her research into Mind, Magic and Medicine has led her on some great adventures- she has studied with the Rishi’s of India, the Monks of China and Tibet, was granted a rare audience with the Shaman of the Arctic Sami people and even had the opportunity to get to know and learn from the foremost Magi in Western Europe. Her unparalleled knowledge in this field found practical application in Skibbereen where she ran a busy clinic of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In the last several years her research has focussed on techniques for accelerated learning and the development of genius as expounded by Robert Dilts. She is currently researching Joseph Campbell’s concept of Myth and it’s relation to both society and the individual. In her search for what makes people happy she spent a year as a virtual hermit drinking champagne, watching dragonflies and generally doing as little as possible- a pastime she would highly recommend to everyone!
